Full-day sandbank picnic
per person
All about the trip
Hop aboard a traditionally crafted dhow and sail away to one of the purest white coral sandbanks around the island of Pemba Island. Once there, you will have a chance to swim and snorkel in warm, crystal clear waters. This wonderful excursion is suitable for anyone, from those who wish to completely relax and those who want adventure and excitement.
Relax on the white sands of the Vumawimbi sandbank
At low tide, a sandbank protrudes to offer a walk on the purest white coral sand. The perfect beach to relax on surrounded by azure blue waters. The excursion relies heavily on the tides, currents, and weather conditions and is not always possible. A cooler box of fruits, box lunch, and refreshments are brought along. This is a 15-minute boat ride from the Vumawimbi beach on the most northern point of Pemba Island.
Vumawimbi Beach is one of the most stunning stretches of white sand beach on the Zanzibar archipelago, and it’s entirely free of hotels and tourism development. It’s a pretty isolated spot, so bring some company and finish off your day with a secret picnic and enjoy some idyllic views that are pretty close to heaven. For now, it remains a gloriously local beach, with most traffic children or oxcarts.
